This box contains illusion and movement which I got the inspiration from Bridget Riley. Everything is just black and white. At the beginning, I was planning to divide it into two floors but I felt it looked kind of simple so I tried to search for another artist, Joseph Cornell.
I curved the papers which has white and black on each side respectively into a number of sticks but in different way round and put them on the side which could sustain the floor to stay steadily.
I printed out the images of Bridget Riley’s works
and made it as floors.
Both of them contain movement and illusion.
Ground floor – I made the curvy papers standing there that look like mini skyscrapers.
First Floor- looks like thorns on the wall.
The things that hung on the wall are a stair which looks like a piano keyboard.
I made a number of peepholes on the shoe box. I can look through it in different ways and different angles to get different views.
